Initial Sketches.
Exploring strain relief concepts and locations.
Lawn mower switch box – Re-designed to incorporate a power cord strain relief and new control button. Design had to stay within the existing switch box package and retain the unique Flymo family feel.
Final concept rendering.
Illustrating both design aesthetic and material finishes (spark finish to main body, gloss to button area).
Evaluation Models.
Simple foam models to test and evaluate proposed strain relief.
First-Off Production Parts.
Tooling unfinished, still requires polishing and texture finnishes added (spark finish).
